What Makes a Good Pet?
These are some of the things we have enjoyed in our pet topic:- having pets visit us
- finding out how to look after different pets
- listening to the vet and SPCA talks
- sharing our own pets
- making pet homes with our group
- painting pictures of animals that would not make a good pet
- pet day
We have written stories about the animal that we think makes the best pet.
We have each given a talk to the class about an animal that we think makes a good pet and why, and an animal that does not make a good pet and why.
We are so good at sharing our opinion and having interesting reasons to go with it.
Have a look at our Reading blog to see a video of 2 of us sharing the talk we did to the class. We are so clever!
Angus's Pet Pig
This pig belongs to Angus. We think it is very cute. Its name is Flips.
Angus thinks pigs are a good pet because they can exercise themselves.
Pet Day
Today the Juniors had a pet day as part of our topic What Makes a Good Pet. We all bought a toy pet to school. We made a label for our pets and awarded prizes to them. We had the oldest pet, the smallest pet, the most colourful pet and lots more. We got to visit the other classes and see their pets. There were so many different pets. It was lots of fun.

Comic Life
Last week we used the Comic Life program to choose pictures of a pet that had visited our classroom and write why we think this animal is a good pet. We thought of some really interesting ideas.
Miss Groombridge was proud of the way we could use Comic Life by ourselves and how we helped each other when we had questions.

Pets

Meet some of the pets that have visited Room D during the last week and a half. We have been so lucky to meet these great pets and learn about how their owners take care of them.
We are enjoying learning about what makes a good pet.
On Wednesday Jo from Totally Vets came to visit us. She told us that pets need 5 things. Do you know what they are?
